Field Condition - Cancellations

As we head into the heart of the baseball season, it's essential to address field conditions and potential cancellations due to inclement weather. Please take note of the following guidelines:

1. Field Conditions:

• Before each scheduled game or practice, coaches are responsible for assessing the condition of the baseball diamond. This includes inspecting the infield, outfield, pitcher's mound, and any other relevant areas for safety hazards or unplayable conditions.

• If there are concerns about the field's suitability for play (e.g., wet grounds, standing water, unsafe playing surfaces), coaches should notify the league commissioner or umpire immediately.

2. Weather Monitoring:

• We will closely monitor weather forecasts leading up to scheduled games and practices. In the event of impending severe weather, decisions regarding cancellations will be made in the best interest of player safety.

• Coaches will receive timely updates regarding any cancellations or changes to the schedule due to weather conditions. It's essential to stay informed through official communication channels (e.g., team apps, email, website updates).

3. Cancellation Procedures:

• In the event of a cancellation, coaches are responsible for informing their respective teams as soon as possible. Please ensure that all players and parents are notified promptly to avoid any confusion or inconvenience.

• Make sure to communicate alternative arrangements, if any, such as rescheduled games or practice sessions.

• Some games will be an onsite, game time decision. In this event, The coaching staff of both respective teams shall meet with the Umpire to discuss if the field is playable.

4. Safety First:

• The safety of our players is our top priority. We encourage coaches and parents to use their discretion when determining whether conditions are safe for play. If there is any doubt about the safety of playing, it's better to err on the side of caution and cancel or postpone activities.

Please adhere to these guidelines to ensure a smooth and safe baseball season for everyone involved. Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated.
